This song, as well as the record it’s on, belongs on my top favorites of all time. For me, it covers the gamut of emotions from yearning to regret to anger to acceptance and so on– it’s so beautifully human.
Musically, the simplicity of the beginning conveys such a sincerity. Then as the song progresses, the swell of sounds portrays the heart of it, the revelation of reveling in the freedom that can only come from this certain kind of solitude.
I apologize for the lack of non-Sunday-Sounds posts lately! With the start of a new school semester and furiously trying to finish some books and knitting projects, I’ve been in a blogging slump. What to write, what to write?
